ecoInsulation® Announcement Regarding Acquisition
We are pleased to announce that the ecoInsulation® brand and assets have been acquired by EnergySmart Limited following an agreement with Knauf Insulation.
EnergySmart Limited is a leading provider of residential insulation and heat pumps in New Zealand, offering assessment and installation services for new and existing homes nation-wide. .
Committed to advancing low-energy and low-carbon insulation solutions, EnergySmart Limited will incorporate the ecoInsulation brand and product range into its existing service offering, which focuses on residential retrofits, and commercial and residential new builds.
The integration of ecoInsulation products into the EnergySmart portfolio will commence gradually from 1st October 2024. As part of the agreement, ecoInsulation products will also remain available through the Carters network until 1st December, when they will be progressively phased out. Carters will still offer a wide range of glasswool insulation from Knauf Insulation, under the Knauf Insulation brand.
ecoInsulation was acquired by Knauf Insulation in 2019 as part of an installation service trial and has enjoyed five successful years of strong growth in this time. The agreement with EnergySmart Limited comes following Knauf Insulation’s decision to concentrate solely on the manufacture of glasswool in the New Zealand market and no longer offer installation services.
The ecoInsulation glasswool range will continue to be produced by Knauf Insulation, ensuring the range, quality, certification, and leading sustainability characteristics of the product remain unchanged.
