ecoinsulation® glasswool achieves third-party passive fire product certification.

Knauf Insulation (Eco Insulation's manufacturer) have received passive fire certification with Certifire, an independent third-party certification scheme with Warrington Fire that assures performance, quality, reliability and traceability of products. The Certifire brand is recognised by regulatory authorities worldwide as an international mark of fire safety across a diverse range of passive fire products. It indicates compliance of glasswool insulation with New Zealand non-combustibility standards.

Having passed rigorous testing procedures, our product range gained certification through the Warrington Fire Certifire scheme. Certification was awarded after the product met the requirements set out in Certifire’s Australian Technical Schedule’s – ATS00 (Scheme rules) and ATS11 (Combustibility), as well as meeting the performance requirements of AS 1530.1:1994 (R2016) – which determines combustibility of building materials.

“All our glasswool products are non-combustible and achieve compliance with AS 1530.1. Such qualities are sought by architects and specifiers when developing fire safety strategies and NCC compliance. Therefore, it’s extremely important for us to prove the performance and ongoing quality of our products. Certifire certification achieves these goals”, said Guy Manthel, Technical Product Manager at Knauf Insulation.

Non-combustible insulation solutions help inhibit fire spread, limit the spread of fire and smoke from one area to another providing safer buildings for occupants, and added complete confidence for specifiers, designers and architects.

To maintain the certification, ongoing surveillance audits, as well as recertification every five years, are required. To learn more about certification of our solutions please click here.
